Honda’s robotic legs

Dont forget to follow,Like,Reblog! thanks

Honda have finally realized that developing and selling a complete humanoid robot at affordable prices is going to take longer than they expected when they invested millions of dollars in the development of ASIMO. Now, Honda wants to take advantage of some of the technology developed for ASIMO to build less complete but still massively useful robotic devices.

As a result, a couple of days ago, Honda unveiled a new robotic leg device which functions similarly to an exoskeleton but has a rather different design as you can tell from the photo at the left. The new device will be of great assistance for the elderly and the disabled.

Google-oracle trial begins today, could change android forever

Two tech heavyweights are about to start the legal fight of the century in a California courtroom Google and Oracle the high-profile battle over intellectual property begins today with jury selection. The stakes are no less than the future of Android. Oracle sued Google over its use of java, a software platform Oracle obtained from its acquisition of Sun Microsystems earlier that same year. Java is actually free to use without licensing it, but when Google developed its Android mobile operating system, it used many of Sun’s Java APIs (application programming interfaces) so Android developers could create apps with Java. Google’s argument is that programming languages are merely the tools software developers use and aren’t subject to copyright, though the programs they make with them are. It says Oracle is trying to copyright an idea rather than an expression — one of the main distinctions about what can be copyrighted and what can’t.

Breaking News! North Korea launches rocket, and failed

Early this morning, North Korea attempted to put a satellite into orbit—or, at least, that’s what the DPRK claims, though hardly anybody actually believes that the aim was solely to launch a weather satellite. The rocket carrying the satellite failed to move into its second phase and exploded into dozens of pieces, which fell into the Yellow Sea in between the Korean peninsula and mainland China.

PowerPot “kickstarter series#2”

Simply put,the PowerPottransforms the heat from cooking into electricity with no moving parts.  This is done using a technology called thermoelectric power generation. Thermoelectric technology was discovered in the early 1800’s, but found no consumer application in power generation due to the relatively high power needs of the devices in use at the time. However, times have changed. Today, nearly everyone uses microelectronics-based devices (smart phones, mp3 players, GPS units, etc.) which consume less than 5 watts of power.
