Boeing plans a super secure Android smartphone

This is the first time that Boeing will be offering a mobile phone designed for use on cellular networks. The project is already near the end of its development cycle, suggesting that the device may be a fork of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not of the latest iteration. Similarly encrypted devices currently cost $15,000 to $20,000 per unit and use proprietary software and hardware.

The Boeing Phone, however, wants to drive down that price point, but not necessarily to mass market pricing. The company also finds that its target users may want top security, but they also want access to popular apps. The Android-based Boeing Phone will give users an interface they’re familiar with in the consumer market, while providing them a whole other level of security.

Microsoft to struggle vs. Apple, Google in tablets

The research firm said it expected Microsoft’s market share to rise gradually, helped by enterprise purchases, but to reach just 11.8 percent in 2016 as it lacks consumer appeal.

“Many vendors will wait for Windows 8 to be ready and will try to enter the market with a dual-platform approach, hoping that the Microsoft brand could help them in both the business and consumer markets,” Milanesi said.

In addition to traditional PC makers, Nokia, the world’s largest cellphone maker by volume, is set to unveil its first tablet using Windows 8 software later this year.

Breaking News! Google nexus tablet

Some recent reports show that Google is starting the project of 7-inch tablet calledgoogle Nexus. The tablet could be priced at $199 and will become the main competitor of Amazon Kindle Fire.

On the higher priced tablet market, iPad dominates absolutely as all reports have proven that. On the lower pricing market, Amazon Kindle Fire is still the best choice for most people but the domination could be ended soon. Google Chairman, Eric Schmidt, said that Google Nexus tablet will be available on the market in December this year. It can be manufactured by Motorola, the brand that was acquired by Google last year, or Asus as some recent rumors stated. Google was so impressed with Asus’ $250, 7-inch quad-core tablet unveiled in January that the search giant tapped the Taiwanese company to build Google’s upcoming Nexus Tablet.

Gold falls Tuesday afternoon

Underscoring once again just how much of a premium Fed QE3-oriented expectations had added to certain market price equations, gold fell out of bed on Tuesday afternoon after the ritual parsing of the Fed’s march 13 meeting minutes left many a smugly hopeful bullish participant with nothing but…hope to hang onto, as their trades/bets (as well as sentiment) soured very fast.
