What is Swagbucks? + Video

Hello followers, so recently i have stumbled upon this site called “swagbucks” . My friend kept pushing me into seeing what this site was all about the day he knocked on my door with a box in his hand, i asked him why he was waking me up so early and he claimed this site had mailed him a amazon gift card, so i was a little skeptical, however sure enough there was a gift card in this little yellow envelop. To make a long story short this site shares its ad revenue with you in the form of points, that get redeemed for prizes the most popular being $5 amazon gift cards. For those of you that think this might be a scam i will provide youtube videos of people unboxing there amazon cards, and gifts. The quickiest way to get points from this site is to download there toolbar, basically they give you points when you use there search engine much like google. This site has to be by far the coolest thing ive ever seen, and completely legit, since then my friend danny has got 3 more gift card, ive only got two :< lol. Theres banners on my tumblr to join just click those to get bonus swagpoints or click the picture above.

NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope

This image from NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope shows what lies near the sword of the constellation Orion an active stellar nursery containing thousands of young stars and developing protostars. Many will turn out like our sun. Some are even more massive. These massive stars light up the Orion nebula, which is seen here as the bright region near the center of the image. To the north of the Orion nebula is a dark filamentary cloud of cold dust and gas, over 5 light-years in length

Rockets Vs Spacecraft “Mach 30 to Space” +Video

The space race is way over, and sadly so is the entire NASA Space Shuttle program as well. But just because we aren’t shipping astronauts up into orbit anymore doesn’t mean the US isn’t playing around still in outer space. Today actually marks the second test launch of a strange form of airplane slash rocket, the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 (FTVH2). Capable of cruising at over 13,000mph (that’s Mach 20 or 20x the speed of sound), the unmanned FTVH2 isn’t a new travel or research toy, but a military one.

The X-43 is an unmanned experimental hypersonic aircraft with multiple planned scale variations meant to test various aspects of hypersonic flight.

Mars Rover Curiosity ‘Flawlessly’ Acing Health Checks
NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity is on the verge of passing a rigorous month-long health checkup with flying colors, scientists announced today (Sept. 12).
Since Curiosity landed inside Mars’ Gale Crater on Aug. 5, researchers have been systematically checking out the rover’s systems and its 10 science instruments to make sure they’re all in good working condition. Those inspections have gone very well and should be finished by the end of Curiosity’s next Martian day, or sol, mission team members said today.
“The success so far of these activities has been outstanding,” said Curiosity mission manager Jennifer Trosper, of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. “Throughout every phase of the checkouts, Curiosity has performed almost flawlessly.”

KickStarter: Nano-satellite that lets you take Earth images and “tweet” from space

SkyCube will take low-resolution pictures of the Earth and broadcast simple messages uploaded by sponsors.  After 90 days, it will use an 8-gram CO2 cartridge to inflate a 10-foot (3-meter) diameter balloon coated with highly reflective titanium dioxide powder.  SkyCube’s balloon will make the satellite as bright as the Hubble Space Telescope or a first-magnitude star.  You’ll be able to see it with your own eyes, sailing across the sky.  But SkyCube’s balloon isn’t just for visibility.  It will - within 3 weeks - bring SkyCube down from orbit due to atmospheric drag, ending the mission cleanly in a fiery “grand finale” that avoids any buildup of space debris.
